The Umami seasoning is going on more than just stir fries in our household. Any dish that is a bit bland, gets sprinkle of umami powder. This past week alone, we’ve had it on a margarita pizza, a grilled cheese sandwich, on schnitzel and absolutely love it on popcorn. Every week I find something new to try it on. On my last visit to Canada, I’d first serve a dish and let the extended family sprinkle on the umami themselves. They’d read the packet that I left on the table. Then as they were getting ready to leave, I gave them an umami packet. They were thrilled. An excellent Australian souvenir.
